  • The rescheduling of the highly-anticipated India vs. Pakistan match is primarily due to the commencement of the Navratri festival. Hosting the match on its original date of October 15 would have posed significant security challenges.
  • Both the ICC and BCCI approached the PCB, requesting the rescheduling of two of its group matches, including the much-awaited clash against India in Ahmedabad.
  • The originally slated India vs. Pakistan match, a highlight of the ICC World Cup, set for October 15 in Ahmedabad, will now take place on October 14.
  • The tournament’s opening match is scheduled for October 5 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has also confirmed that the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 final will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
  • Additionally, the first semi-final will be hosted at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, while the second semi-final will be held at Kolkata’s iconic Eden Gardens.
