ICC Cricket World Cup 2023; India vs Australia LIVE: The formidable host side India crumbled, or to say, choked at the finish line as Australia eclipsed India by 6 wickets to lift their 6th ICC Cricket World Cup Trophy.

Travis Head delivered a remarkable innings of 137 runs, and Marnus Labuschagne stood unbeaten at 58 runs as Australia clinched their historic sixth World Cup title. They secured victory over India in the title clash of the 2023 ICC World Cup at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, November 19.

The Australians successfully chased down the victory target against India with six wickets to spare, accomplishing the task in just 43 overs. Prior to that, Mitchell Starc claimed three wickets, while skipper Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood each took two, contributing to Australia’s effective bowling performance. Despite the gritty fifties from Virat Kohli and KL Rahul in the title clash on Sunday, November 19, India was limited to a total of 240 all out.

Responding to Australia’s innings, Indian bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami initially posed challenges, but Head and Labuschagne exhibited brave and strategic performances, guiding Australia to a comfortable six-wicket victory over India. In the audience, notable figures such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, and several other dignitaries were present to witness the IND vs AUS match.

The title clash of the 50-over World Cup saw the presence of World Cup-winning captains Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni. The final ceremony was equally thrilling, featuring a high-octane airshow by the Indian Air Force’s Suryakiran Acrobatic team immediately after the toss.

Aditya Gadhvi from the renowned Khalaasi (or Gotilo), Bollywood music composer Pritam, and singers Jonita Gandhi, Nakash Aziz, Akasa Joshi, Tushar Joshi, and Amit Mishra added a touch of stardom to the final event.

In their fourth World Cup final appearance, attention was centered on key players for India such as Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, and Kuldeep Yadav. Meanwhile, Australian fans had their eyes on performers like Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Cameron Green, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, David Warner, and Adam Zampa.

Hosted at the Narendra Modi Stadium, in Gujarat, the extravagant final saw Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi and Australian Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles in attendance. India held their heads high to a brilliant World Cup campaign that fell short in the end, having won all their matches and would face Australia when the India vs Australia series resumes post the World Cup Matches.
